The industries of various districts in Panem have long been a source of friendly contention among the fandom. After the release of Mockingjay, there was still no explicit statement on District 5, District 6, or District 9. This led fans to invent their own industries for the purposes of roleplay, fanfiction, and mapmaking. Ideas ranged from iron manufacturing to genetic manipulation and from opium poppy farming to game hunting.
